Fur child can be alone for up to 8 hours.  They are typically independent, but are still in need of an evening cuddle.

Fur teenager can be alone for up to 5 hours. These pups are still figuring it out, but they're trusted and potty trained.

Fur baby can be alone for up to 3 hours. In layman's terms "I'm just a baby."
